About Me

Hi there, my name is Samantha, I find that weird because hardly anyone calls me that, it’s usually either Sam or Sammy. I live in Berkshire with my Husband our Dog Jack and two cats Stella and Morgan.

I have spent almost 18 years running an online store selling fabric and Haberdashery called originally called Sew Crafty and now Samantha Claridge Studio. We had bricks and mortar store until a couple of years ago when our online business overtook the need for a physical location. I have to joy of working with my Mum almost every day, and I get to play with beautiful things that I love.

Back in 2015 I launched our first product which was our Sewing Journal, six months later that was joined by craft, dressmaking and knitting version. Then in 2018 I launched a mini jewellery and enamel pin badge collection called 'The Signs of the Sewdiac'. I am more than thrilled that I get to use my product design background to create products for my business.

Over the years I have sold a number of my handmade products online and at events including customised toys, fascinators, hats, greetings cards, embroidery and jewellery. I also love photography, photorealistic fan art drawings of my favourite celebrities, watercolour painting and papercrafts. I now sell my embroidery designs and other sewing related products here and on my Etsy shop.

As a freelance designer, I have produced sewing and craft projects and written articles for magazines such as Sewing World, Simply Sewing, Reloved and Mollie Makes. More recently I have appeared on the Sewing Quarter television channel as a guest designer racking up over 40 live appearances demonstrating sewing projects and techniques. I have also spent time consulting with other sewing businesses sharing my advice and experience of the sewing industry.
